We put our backpacks down and wrote two, precious letters each: one for a daughter, and one for a son. Before we read our letters aloud, we nervously wondered if the familiar numbness would take over. We needed that door of tears to be opened. Somehow, we knew it was time.
Thankfully, at the first words, a key clicked in the locked door and it opened easily. It felt like a true evidence of grace.
Thanks for sharing a piece of your personal grief journey. Very touching and yet filled with God's grace. My own grief journey involved my dear brother who died with an AIDS related illness and
involved ten years of walking with him through this experience. God's grace poured over me
during this time and after as I still occasionally share tears of grief for him and always will.--JEH
Joyce, that sounds so painful. And so beautiful. Thank you for being an example of walking with a dear one like that. I'm so thankful that God's grace "poured over you." Thank you so much for sharing.
