You took me back Julianne! We sold our home in 2022 where we mostly raised our 3 sons for 26 years. Those old many colored walls hold more regrets than I wish. But you’ve reminded me of the beautiful formation that took place as well.
My grief of leaving is often filled with joy these days. We choose a family with 3 young children to buy our home. The parents are teaching their kiddos to know and love Jesus and grow in wisdom and stature as well.
Thank you for a beautiful tribute to a season of life lived in those blue-grey walls. The memories will live on in your hearts forever. Enjoy your new home! 🏠
Thank you and yes! The spaces in which we are formed matter, and they are so hard to leave behind. What a beautiful thing to have a family similar to yours living within those same walls! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Really loved this article. So thoughtful and oh how beautiful this line is, "This is a grief we are choosing. Do you think it still counts?" Yep, it still counts. 💞
My work has been in the process of moving to a different building. Yesterday morning I read your letter & went to my office for the last time in that space. It is possible to experience grief over leaving a “second home” space too.
I am weeping reading this, Julianne, reliving all of the wonderful memories, joys and sorrows, times of challenge and growth and renewal we as Faith family and as the Bell family were blessed to experience with you and Brad during your time with us. We hold you both close in our hearts and prayers always, dear friends.
